1. Prayer that gets heaven’s attention grows by steadfast practice.
A. Turn your panic into prayer.

Phil. 4:6

"If your knees knock, kneel on them."

 

B. Turn your powerlessness to prayer.

 

Dan. 6:10

- Determine to have an attitude of persistence

- Dedicate to actualizing perspiration

 

2. Praying that gets heaven’s attention is generated by studying His precepts.

A. Prayer is a response to the Word.

God chooses not only the ends, but He also chooses the means. 

B. Prayer is restating the Word.

John 15:7

 

"Oh! That you studied your Bibles more! Oh! That we all did! How we could plead the promises! How often we should prevail with God when we could hold Him to His word, and say, 'Fulfill this Word unto Thy servant, whereon Thou hast caused me to hope.' Oh! 3. Prayer that gets heaven’s attention guides us in seeking His presence.
A. Prayer moves from stating petitions to seeking His presence.
B. Prayer moves from stating petitions to silence in His presence.
4. Prayer that gets heaven’s attention is grounded in His sovereign plan.

Prayer is not getting God to adjust to our will but God getting us to adjust to His.

Prayer is not getting my will done in heaven but getting heaven’s will done on earth.
