Senior Pastor
Dr. Steve Brown

Dr. Steve Brown became the Senior Pastor of First Baptist La Grange in September of 2019. Dr. Brown came with 25+ years of ministerial experience having served in churches across the state of North Carolina and most recently as a senior pastor in Ohio for 8 1/2 years. Upon graduation from High School, Dr. Brown entered the Army. He was stationed in Germany and proudly served his country during Desert Storm. He married the love of his life, Rachel, in 1989 and together they have seven daughters, three sons-in-love and 6 grandchildren. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Youth Ministries and Adolescent Studies from Judson College in May of 1998. He then attended Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary graduating with a Master of Divinity with Biblical languages in May of 2003. The Lord then led him to pursue a Doctorate of Ministry in church planting which he completed in December of 2008. In April of 2008, he and his wife were appointed by the International Mission Board. They served in Macedonia reaching the Turkish people left there after the Ottoman Empire. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Biblical Ministry from Midwestern Theological Seminary. In addition to serving with the IMB, Dr. Brown has been active in SBC life throughout his ministry, serving as president of his local Association and serving on various committees at the state and national levels. Dr. Brown believes that when we embrace the Great Commandment of loving God and others we can then express the Great Commission of making disciples who make disciples. 1 Tim. 1:12

Associate Pastor
Justin Lopez

Justin Lopez became the Discipleship Pastor of First Baptist Church at the end of February 2016. Justin obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion from Baylor University and a Masters of Divinity Degree from George W. Truett Theological Seminary. Justin and his wife Brynn have been married since 2004 and have two sons and a daughter.

Children's Minister
Sarah Logsdon

Sarah Logsdon is the Children's Minister at First Baptist La Grange. She and her husband Nathan have been married since 2016. Sarah is originally from Houston, TX and graduated from Texas A&M University in 2013. She has a Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology and is working toward her Master's degree in Children’s Ministry at DBU. Sarah has a passion for children and believes they can be some of our greatest teachers.

Student Pastor
Jacob Range

Jacob Range became Student Minister of First Baptist Church of La Grange in January 2023. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology from The College at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Jacob and his wife Hannah have been married since 2015, and they have two daughters and two sons. Jacob’s passion is to make disciples who look like Jesus and love like Jesus.

Church Ministry Assistant
Tammy Dusek

Tammy Dusek has been the Church Ministry Assistant of First Baptist since September 2005.  She and her husband, Bobby, became members in 1991 and have been married for 26 years.  They have been blessed with three wonderful children, ages 24, 19, and 13.  Tammy is a Sunday School teacher for the Pre-K class and is president of Church Women United.  

Matthew 28:18-20: And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.  Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

Director of Communications
Elizabeth Tucker

Elizabeth is our Director of Communications. She has been married to Sam since 1995 and they have three daughters.  Sam and Elizabeth Tucker are originally from San Antonio and moved to La Grange from Montana in the summer of 2012. Elizabeth has served in many different church roles and ministries. She also served on the Montana Southern Baptist Women's board and the Montana Southern Baptist Convention as the Web and IT Administrator.
